Koiken Otome Full Patch Released!

Who will YOU choose?

Who will YOU choose?

It’s been a long three years since Defendos, our previous loli-loving leader, asked me to help him with a Visual Novel project he wanted to start. Little did I know that this project would be plagued with so much real life misfortune. Thanks to the hard work of our members, past and present, we’ve finally reached our goal. I’d like to announce that the full patch for Koiken Otome is now available! Please give a big thanks to nfinite for spending his time to work on not just translation but also our extraction and patching tools. We couldn’t have done it without him!

Prepping the patch

Well, we’ve done it. Koiken Otome is now at the stage where we’re ready for release.

We’ll need a bit to:

  • Finalize some lines (two of them).
  • Fix the patcher.
  • Create the patch.
  • Test it to make sure you can get from the start to finish, and that everything has been included (can’t be missing those images for example).
  • Yell at ISP to fix upload speed.
  • Upload the patches to our server.
  • Create the torrents and upload the patches to a file host.
  • And finally to create the post and release the patch to the world!

  • We’re using a new method of patching which has reduced the patch size to 27mb for those with the game already e.g. Prologue patch.
  • The pre-patched version will be around 4.3 GB in size.
  • There will be a pre-patched torrent and a pre-patched DDL. There will also be a DDL for the patch files only.
  • We’re not being licenced by MangaGamer, JAST or SekaiProject. I hate these companies with a passion.
  • We’ll take as long as we want to release our final patch. This is our baby that we’ve been working on for the past 3 years.
  • Comment filter is set to as high as possible.

Our current status

Due to this being the month of hell (exams and assignments) progress on editing is currently stalled until May. Once I’m free (second week in May) I’ll be taking over editing on common and looking to release either the same month or the beginning of the next (but don’t quote me on that). Common is currently being quality checked and my edit will be considered final.

There are a few things various members will be doing between now and then: Read more »

Hey FlyingPantsu, is that a 100% I see?

common1If you’ve taken a look at our progress on the Koiken Otome page you’ve probably noticed that translation has reached 100%. No, this isn’t a typo or some error. Koiken Otome has been fully translated into English. I’d like to give a big thanks to nfinite who, despite being swamped by real life commitments, has managed to translate most of common. Another thanks goes to accorda who took over for a little when nfinite was busy.

Unfortunately, this is where the good news gets put on hold slightly.

Hey FlyingPantsu, anyone alive over there?

The summer months were a lot busier than we expected them to be. As it turns out, people continued to be busy over the summer holidays (people finding work etc).
So what’s happening with the project?

Our current status

Firstly, to answer the question that a lot of people have been wondering:

No, we are not dead.

To quote from accorda05 on Reddit earlier this week, this is the reason why it looks like we’re making no progress and why we aren’t bothering to update the progress on our site:

More Recruitment!

Yuzu route is finally finished, and that means it’s time for another edition of QC recruitment! She’s the protagonist’s busty childhood friend who’s just cute as a button. She’s the host of our favourite page, the 404 page. Read more »

Merry Christmas!

Just letting everyone know we are, in fact, alive. Progress may have slowed practically to a halt, but that’s because it’s Christmas! Christmas, AKA, vacation time, final exams, etc. If you stick with me through this whole short post, I’ll give you a Christmas present.

Yves route completed

We are proud to announce that Yves’s route is fully translated, edited, and QC’d. With that being said, I’d like to remind everyone that we will not be releasing another partial patch. Yuzu also finished translating a few weeks ago and is in editing, leaving only common route left. As usual, we have no ETA for the final patch. Please check our status update page for more in-depth numbers.

If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, or even want to tell a certain editor to vacate himself in an extremely rude manner, come by our IRC channel: #pantsu-vn on Rizon.net.

QC Applicant’s Preferences for Pantsu

Abstract: Of 60 total applicants (45 after pruning) for the position of Quality Checker over two testing periods, it was determined that the most popular style of pantsu was “striped”, with the second most popular being “black with lace and frills”. Statistics were drawn from such factors as email domain, gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, and their choice of “best girl” from the popular anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Corntastic, ACF, 2014.
